We at ADR Consulting Engineers Ltd are absolutely thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Alfie McCann, who joins our Kent team as an Apprentice Building Services Engineer! Alfie’s arrival marks an exciting new chapter for both, as we continue our commitment to nurturing young talent.
Supporting the next generation of engineers is something we’re incredibly passionate about at ADR. We believe investing in young professionals not only strengthens our team but also contributes to the future of our industry. That’s why we’re excited to have Alfie on board as he embarks on this significant step in his career journey.
What makes Alfie’s background particularly valuable is his prior experience. Alfie’s already completed a year as an apprentice electrician, which provides him with a foundation as he transitions into consultancy. This experience will undoubtedly prove beneficial as he delves into the complexities of mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) systems within the built environment.
A few words from Alfie.
Alfie was educated at DGSB, where his interest in engineering originated, completing 10 GCSE’s and a level 2 in STEM . Following this he embarked on a year of a level 3 electrical apprenticeship, gaining valuable hands-on experience. Experiencing a variety of commercial and industrial installations and an understanding of the practicalities and challenges of design. Alfie is now Studying his level 3 in building services at London South bank college.
Following my years training on site on commercial electrical installations, i’m excited at the opportunity to take my career to the next level with ADR . I am really looking forward to learning more about engineering principles, construction technology , the theory and regulations behind building services and how projects come together from start to finish . I can’t wait to get to know the team and to get involved with them on projects and learn from their wide-ranging knowledge and experience and eventually take on some responsibilities of my own.
To support Alfie in his new role, we’ll be enrolling him at London South Bank College to formally begin his apprenticeship in Building Services. This will therefore provide him with the theoretical knowledge and academic rigour to complement his practical experience here at ADR. We’re eager to see Alfie thrive in his studies and apply his learnings directly to real-world projects.
We are truly excited to support Alfie in achieving his aspirations. His journey with us will involve working alongside experienced engineers, contributing to diverse projects, and gaining invaluable insights into the intricacies of building services design. We truly believe that with his enthusiasm and our guidance, Alfie will develop into a highly skilled and successful engineer.
Over the coming years, we’re looking forward to watching Alfie grow, not just professionally but personally. His journey here at ADR will be without a doubt one of continuous learning, development, and significant contribution.
