ADR Consulting Engineers: Our Commitment to a Greener Future

As we look ahead, we are strengthening our commitment to environmental stewardship through meaningful, community-focused action. One of our key priorities is expanding tree-planting initiatives across the region—projects that deliver long-term benefits for both people and the planet.

This February 2026, the Kentish Stour Countryside Partnership (KSCP) have collaborated with partners such as Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) who have planned this project and Kentish Stour Countryside Partnership (KSCP) that has helped deliver with the added help of volunteers from ADR Consulting Engineers Ltd.

ADR Consulting Engineer’s Ltd aim is to help deliver a successful tree-planting programme in Canterbury’s Chislet Forstal.

‘Our contribution will directly increase planting statistics, enhance local biodiversity, and create a positive environmental impact that will be felt for generations.’

  • ADR Consulting Engineers Ltd.

The project is known as Hedgerow Heroes – planned by CPRE and delivered by KSCP. So far, Hedgerow Heroes has helped to create and restore 66 miles of hedgerows, inspiring hundreds of volunteers and deepening public understanding of their vital role.

Building on this success, we intend to continue working with Kentish Stour Countryside Partnership (KSCP) Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and Kent County Council (KCC) to scale up these efforts. Watch this space for more exciting updates to follow!

Why Tree Planting Matters

Tree planting is more than a symbolic gesture; it is a practical, measurable way to support climate resilience and ecological restoration.

  • Improved Air Quality: Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, helping to reduce pollution and support healthier communities.
  • Enhanced Biodiversity: New woodland creates vital habitats for birds, insects, and wildlife, strengthening local ecosystems.
  • Climate Resilience: Trees help regulate temperature, reduce flood risk, and stabilise soil, making landscapes more resilient to climate change.
  • Community Wellbeing: Green spaces contribute to mental and physical health, offering places for recreation, reflection, and connection.

Did you know … A single hectare of new native woodland can absorb 300–400 tonnes of carbon in its first 50 years, rising to 400–600 tonnes by year 100. With 1,000–2,500 trees per hectare, each new woodland becomes a powerful and growing carbon store.

By increasing tree cover across the county today, we’re making a meaningful contribution toward our 2030 and 2050 climate goals—and creating natural spaces that will benefit communities for generations.

Let’s keep growing a greener future.

Corporate Responsibility in Action

We believe that organisations have a responsibility to lead by example. Environmental responsibility isn’t just an “add-on”—it is a core part of how modern businesses operate. By investing in tree-planting initiatives, we are demonstrating our commitment to:

  • Sustainable development
  • Long-term environmental health
  • Collaboration with local partners
  • Leaving a positive legacy for future generations

Our upcoming projects will continue to reflect these values, ensuring that every tree planted contributes to a healthier, more sustainable landscape.
