Also known as Londons Diamond District, ADR is proud to support the team at Hatton Gardens with the refurbishment of one of the main blocks along the prestigious street in the Diamond District of London.

The building has been sitting empty for many years, with many of the services left unused and in need of replacement. As part of the project, we were appointed to carry out a validation survey of the existing site, and the proposed plans for the building prior to works commencing.

Why carry out a validation survey?

• With over 20 years in the industry having spent time on site during installation, in addition attending university and time served as a consulting engineer, we are well placed to identify risks, value engineering and effiencies that might be missed during the concept design.
• It is easy to make a mistake, and having another independant review of the proposed plans decreases the chances of errors once the project enters the next stages of design.

Once the validation survey was complete, we issued the team with our recommendations and observations. The approach was welcomed and approved prior to proceeding to the next stage of design. As this project was procured under ‘Design & Build’ we worked directly with the electrical contractor. We developed a robust proposal that meets the commercial and performance needs of the end client.

We developed the lighting design, small power, fire alarm and main containment routes as part of our scope. This included CAD drawings and using Amtech ProDesign to develop the project to construction level information.

This is another great example of a collaborative design and support package for a very secure and sensitive project. By engaging with the client and design team at an early stage, we developed the right solution for the project. This approach mitigates risk and provides the client with an improved product.
